Hershel Roe

Hershel Roe, age 80 of Lake Station, passed away Jan. 28, 2008. He enjoyed spending time outside and fishing. Hershel retired from U.S. Steel. He proudly served his country in the second world war. Hershel received the Army of Occupational Medal World War II victory medal. Mr. Roe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lavada; his daughters, Brenda (Stan) Field of Washington D.C., Karen (Richard) Lange of Lake Station and Rebecca (Larry) Ward of Kentucky; brother, Wesley Roe of Alabama; sister, Ester Hayes of Alabama; grandchildren, Anthony, Tara, Rachel, Nicole and Jesse; great-grandchildren, Alissa, Kaitlin and Emilee and other dear family and friends. Hershel was preceded in death by his son, Troy Lee and grandchildren, Thomas Hershel Field, Angelique Renee Field. Services were held at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home with burial in Warrior Cemetery.
