Corner Theatre to perform Valentine’s production
Spend Valentine’s weekend with Romeo and Juliet
Corner Theatre will perform Romeo and Juliet at Bevill State in Sumiton the weekend of Valentine’s Day. Shows are on Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., and on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. The traditional play features Shakespeare’s words set in 1920s America to the tune of jazz, flappers and the Charleston, incorporating student musicians from the theatre department. Student graduate from UM
More than 200 University of Montevallo students received their diplomas at fall commencement Dec. 14. Dr. Philip C. Williams, Montevallo’s president, conferred degrees upon some 134 candidates for bachelor’s degrees, 59 candidates for master’s degrees and nine candidates for the educational specialist degree. Graduates from north Jefferson County include: Lacey Arnold of Gardendale, B.S.; Jessica Chastain of Mt. Olive, B.S.; Anna Dutton of Morris, B.S.; Zachary Garmon of Pleasant Grove, B.B.A.; and Zachary McWhorter of Gardendale, M.Ed.
