William David McCarty, age 89, of Cullman, left this walk of life on Jan. 27, 2008. Funeral services will be held at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home on Jan. 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. with burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Bro. Dan Nichols officiating. Mr. McCarty was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Felix E. McCarty, two brothers, James O. McCarty and Robert E. McCarty and great- granddaughter Marina J. Canterbury. Mr. McCarty is survived by 6 sons and 2 daughters. Sons include David (June), Felix (Judy), Paul (Brenda), Linn (Shelia), Lamar and Allen McCarty. Daughters include Zada Nygreen and Pamela (Allan) Haymon and one sister Wynelle Salyers and sister-in-law Flossie McCarty.
