Prayers needed for Burgess family

Happy belated birthday to Liberty Andrzejewski. I hope she had a wonderful birthday on Jan. 18. Liberty is the daughter of Michael and Nina Andrze-jewski and the sister of Brooklyn, Faith, Trinity and Justice.

• Our prayers of support and sympathy go out to the entire Burgess family as they continue to morn the death of their two-year-old son, Bronner. Please continue to lift them up in your prayers.

• A group of travelers from our area will be touring the Pacific Coast this summer from June 22 to July 1. Anyone is welcome to participate. A meeting for those who want more information will be held at Bragg Middle School Library at 6 p.m. on Feb. 28. You can also call Pat McGrady at 631-7170.

• Centershot is an exciting archery program geared to teach students of all ages. For more information, go to www.centershotministries.org. • The community ladies Bible study has begun. It meets at 9 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in the fellowship hall at Gardendale First Baptist Church. Child care is available. Also, a study room will be available for home-schooled children.

• Central Baptist Church of Gardendale will hold revival services Sunday through Wednesday with Bill Saye preaching and Allen Henderson as worship leader. Services on Sunday are at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. with nightly services at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. They are located on Newfound Road just off Fieldstown Road by the soccer field.

• The Happy Hilltoppers Valentine Lunch for adults ages 55 and up will be held at Gardendale Mt. Vernon UMC on Feb. 5 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a great lunch of pork loin, potatoes, beans and other goodies and entertainment by Richard Robertson, a former guitarist with the Gaither Homecoming Concerts who toured with Ivan Parker. The cost is $7 at the door or call 631-7631 to make your reservation.

• The Gardendale Senior Center will be holding their first gospel singing for seniors 55 and older on Jan. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. Special singers will be the Camp Meeting Singers featuring the voices of Buddy Camp, Sharon Brown and Jerry Green. For more information call Peggy at the center.

• Gardendale Mt. Vernon will have a men’s basketball open gym on Mondays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. For more information call 631-7631.
