Archery

Jan. 27 Centershot is an exciting archery program geared to teach students of all ages. Bible Study

The Community Ladies Bible study has begun. It meets at 9 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the fellowship hall of Gardendale First Baptist Church. Child care is available. Also, a study room will be available for home-schooled children.



GriefShare

Jan. 27 Gardendale First Baptist Church is sponsoring the Griefshare ministry. It is a non-denominational group that features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Sessions begin on Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. Child care is available. They meet in room 1025 of the educational building. For info call 488-8715.



Help Wanted

Royal Family Kids’ Camp is a week long sleep over camp for abused and neglected children. Gardendale Mt Vernon UMC will be sponsoring a camp this summer. If you would like to be a counselor for two of these special children, please contact Paul Wiegert at the church office at 631-7631. There will be mandatory training.



Men’s Basketball

Open Gym

Special Service

Jan. 27 The Mineral Springs Baptist Church will have a singing on Jan. 27 with special guests The Royal Masters Quartet. They will be singing at 10:30 a.m. There will be a special message by the pastor, Rev. Thomas Perkins at 11 a.m. and lunch at noon. The Royal Masters Quartet will be singing after lunch from 1:30 – 3 p.m. Everyone is invited for this special day of recognizing Rev. Thomas Perkins for 57 years in the gospel ministry. Consignment Sale

TOPS

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday, 6 p.m. in the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church, Room 2028. They will be having an open house on Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. with free healthy snacks. There is no obligation to attend.



Mount Olive



Swamp John’s Dinner

Jan. 28 Mt. Olive Elementary School will host a Swamp John’s Dinner and Art Walk on Jan. 28, 4-7 p.m. The dinner is $10 a plate and includes a choice of fish, shrimp or chicken plus all the trimmings, a drink and dessert. To purchase tickets in advance, visit the school or call 379-4900. Each student has created a piece of art under the direction of art teacher Buster Cannova. The framed art will be sold for $5 each.



Free Child Care

There will be free child care in the Mt. Olive area for 3 and 4 year olds. The head start program is now enrolling for the summer. Regular full day childcare is offered. Call 608-1661.

Our RLC/gifted class is looking for available individuals who lived or fought during World War II because we are writing a novel. Dance

Jan. 27 The Birmingham Ballroom Dance Association (BBDA) will have a dance on Jan. 27 from 2-5 p.m. at the Homewood Senior Center. For more info call 332-6500. $7 members, $10 guests, $5 students with ID. Dancers of all ages are welcome.



Art on the Lake

April 19, 20 Art on the Lake, an annual two-day arts and crafts event in Guntersville, is now accepting applications from vendors who wish to exhibit in the show.
