Alton Dennis

Mr. Alton Dennis, born May 30, 1920, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 17, 2008. Mr. Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Helen Blackmon Dennis, his parents Mack and Minnie Isabel Dennis, two brothers – Louie Dennis and T. M. Dennis and one sister – Louise Dennis Adams. Mr. Dennis is survived by his daughters – Shirley Dennis Alexander, Faye Crane and her Husband Tommy, Deborah Belcher and her husband Stephen all of Kimberly, Wanda Sitton and her Husband Jeffrey of Hayden. Mr. Dennis is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one brother – Mack Dennis Jr. and his wife Willodean of Kimberly, two sisters, Mrs. Edna Carroll of Warrior and Mrs. Ella Mae Crane of Kimberly. Mr. Dennis was a member and deacon emeritus of Enon Baptist Church in Morris. Mr. Dennis served in the U.S. Navy from 1939 -1946. He retired from the U.S. Post Office. Mr. Dennis was a master cabinet maker many years, prior to going to work for the post office. The family wishes to send a special thank you to New Beacon Hospice and his nurse Kathy Tucker. Also his aide Stacy Tidwell for their kindness and care of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We also want to thank Dr. Allen Yielding and his staff and Dr. Richard Lylerly and his nurse Pam for their care of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Dennis had a great love and care for each of his family members. Mr. Dennis’ service was held in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Dr. John Hambright officiated.
