Gardendale Historical Society to celebrate birthday

A group of travelers from our area will be touring the Pacific Coast this summer from June 22 to July 1. Anyone is welcome to participate. A meeting for those who want more information will be held at Bragg Middle School Library at 6 p.m. on Feb. 28. You can also call Pat McGrady at 631-7170.
• The Gardendale Historical Society, Inc., will be celebrating their second birthday. You are invited to this celebration at the Gardendale Library today at 10 a.m. They will be looking at old pictures and items from the 1930s and 1940s and onward. • A ladies community Bible study will be held at Gardendale First Baptist Church in the fellowship hall, beginning Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Childcare is available by reservation by calling 488-8741. For more information, call Sheila Keedy at 488-8729.
• Centershot is an exciting archery program geared to teach students of all ages. For more information, go to www.centershotministries.org. • Central Baptist Church of Gardendale will hold revival services on Jan. 27-30 with Bill Saye preaching and Allen Henderson as worship leader. Services on Sunday are at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. with nightly services at 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday. They are located on Newfound Road just off Fieldstown Road by the soccer field.
• The Gardendale Senior Center will be holding their first gospel singing for seniors 55 and older on Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m. Special singers will be the Campmeeting Singers, featuring the voices of Buddy Camp, Sharon Brown and Jerry Green. For more information call Peggy at the center.
• Happy birthday greetings go out to my sweet sister, Angie Bush on Jan. 23. Angie is the daughter of Danny and Denise Tesseneer, the wife of Jason Bush and the mom of Lexi, Tessa and Brodie Bush. She is a great sister and a wonderful friend. Hope you have the best year yet!
• Gardendale Mt. Vernon will have a men’s basketball open gym on Mondays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. For more information, call 631-7631.
