Funeral services for Larry Wayne Leathers, 61, of Somerville will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Dewitt Crowe officiating, with interment in Center Point Cemetery near Holly Pond.

Peck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Leathers died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born on Feb. 11, 1946, in Cullman County to Homer and Lucille Dorries Leathers. He worked as a newspaper carrier with The Cullman Times. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Leathers; six children, Richie Leathers of Hartselle, Jason Leathers of Lacey Springs, Tonya Watwood of Athens, Sonya Baker of Mississippi, Wayne Leathers Jr. of Holly Pond and Michelle Spencer of Florida; 12 grandchildren, Dylan Jacob Leathers, Brody Wayne Leathers, Josh Watwood, Kirk Watwood, Jesse Watwood, Tyler Leathers, Kelsey Baker, Josh Farmer, Chris Farmer, Madison Spencer, Micah Spencer and Keaton Leathers; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Margie Henry of Cullman; and four brothers, Jerry Leathers and David Leathers, both of Holly Pond, Homer Leathers of Hanceville and Sidney Leathers of Cullman.

Pallbearers will be Steve Douthit, Brian Merriman, Mike Stidham, Jason Steele, Jay Kodra and Ken Bonnville.

Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home.
