Relay event scheduled for Jan. 22

The kickoff for Relay for Life of North Jefferson County will be held on Jan. 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gardendale Civic Center. The event was supposed to be held Thursday, but was canceled because of inclement weather. Dance lessons to be offered

The Winter Wonderland Dance is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Gardendale Civic Center. In preparation for the dance, the Gardendale Arts Council will be offering six dance lessons.

The lessons will be each Tuesday at 7 p.m., beginning Jan. 15 through Feb. 18. Each one-hour lesson will be $5 per participant, with no reservation or enrollment required.

The first three lessons will be the Cha-Cha. On Jan. 28, a Cha-Cha practice will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The last three lessons will be the Foxtrot. On Feb. 18, the Foxtrot practice time is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
