Woman dies from injuries following Thursday night wreck

A 25-year-old Blountsville woman died Friday at UAB Hospital in Birmingham where she was being treated for injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident near Hanceville Thursday night.

State troopers said La’ Keisha Love Cruz Walker was not wearing a seat belt when the 2002 Volkswagon she was driving crashed on County Road 541, two miles south of Hanceville.

Walker, who was born in Cullman County in 1982, is the 39th person to die as a result of road accidents in the county, according to State troopers.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. Thursday. Troopers were unable to provide details at press time. Walker was pronounced dead at 4 a.m. on Friday, according to Cullman County Coroner Gary Murphree.

Walker is survived by a numerous relatives including her parents, eight sisters and three brothers.
