Adrian Gilbert Maze Sr., age 65 of Birmingham, passed away on Dec. 3, 2007. Mr. Maze was a charter member and deacon at Decatur Highway Church of Christ; served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Southern Nuclear in 2002. Mr. Maze’s favorite time of year was always Christmas. This year the angels came to take him to spend Christmas with Jesus. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Margaret Rice Maze; children, Adrian Gilbert “Gil” Maze Jr. (Kim), Cindy Maze Jones (Walt), Tamara Maze Kim (Chris); grandchildren, Tabitha Maze, Ashley Jones, Austin Jones, Nicholas Kim, Alex Kim and Victoria Kim; sister, Bobbie Bush Baucom; step-father, Joe Bush “Papa Joe”; half-sister, Tammy Newcomb; half-brothers, Bruce Maze and Garry Maze. Pallbearers will be William Thomas, Jeff Madaris, Dewey Barber, Gene Jeter, Rayburn Mullinax and Jack Best Jr. Services were held at Gardendale Funeral Home with burial at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Bro. Mike Whisenant and Bro. Jack Black officiated. The family would like to thank Dr. Jimmy Harvey and Dr. Aleston Harrison and the staff at Trinity Hospital for the love and care they gave during Adrian’s courageous strength he showed against his 3 1/2 year battle with cancer.
