Delton Holmes

Funeral services for Delton Holmes, 81, of Vernon will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Chandler Funeral Home, Clyde Stevens and Benton Goodman officiating, with burial in Lamar Memory Gardens.

Chandler Funeral Home in Vernon is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Holmes died Wednesday, Nov. 28, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 9, 1926, in Morgan County to Henry Jackson and Millie Ann Holmes. He was the owner of a Western Auto store. He was also a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Weda Benefield Holmes of Vernon; two sons, Garry (Linda) Holmes of Jacksonville and Danny (Diane) Holmes of Vernon; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Thursday.
