Beautification board looking forward to 2008

The Morris Beautification Board “had a good year and are looking forward to 2008,” according to a release from the board.

The board added to the Memorial Park and re-worked a larger flower bed with decorative blocks. In this bed, an azalea will be planted in memory of veterans.

Since the veteran’s memorial has been erected, the board has received inquires from residents wanting the names of family members added to the memorial. If interested, contact Irene Neely at 647-9593 or Joan Bailey at 647-3096.

The board is having their Christmas breakfast at Shoney’s in Gardendale on Dec. 6 at 8:30 a.m.

Santa letters due Dec. 17

The North Jefferson News will be publishing our “Letters to Santa” publication in our Dec. 22 paper.

If little or Johnny or Susie knows what they’ll be asking Santa for this year, you can go ahead and send those letters to us as well. We have a special pipeline to Santa here at the NJN, so the quicker we can send those letters to the North Pole, the sooner Santa will have a chance to read them. To ensure that Santa gets those letters on time, get them to us no later than Dec. 17. You can send them to us by snail mail (P.O. Box 849, Gardendale, 35071) or via e-mail (daniellet@njeffersonnews.com) or just bring them by our office at 1118 Main Street in Gardendale.

We thank you in advance!
