Graves Gap Baptist Church will have a bench plaque dedication honoring Vernon “Buck” and Henrietta “June” Gallimore and Earl McPher-son on Sunday at 11 a.m. Also tonight at 7 p.m., Graves Gap will have a special singing with Sacred Harvest (formerly Heritage Quartet).
• Happy Thanksgiving everyone. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with family and eat up all that good turkey. An added bonus is that the kids are out of school for the whole week. Don’t forget to rise early and shop on Friday. It will be a rush.
• Happy birthday to Joy Clayton on Thanksgiving Day. Joy does a great job as the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce for Gardendale. She is the wife of Timothy Clayton and the mother of Paul, Luke and Silas.
• Happy birthday to my grandpa, Dayton Ozelle Tesseneer on Nov. 23. I love you.
• If you like yard sales, make sure to stop by Hayden Elementary School today between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. for their “Let There Be Lights” campaign. The sale is to raise money for the Hayden softball field’s new lights. There will be moonwalks, face painting and other fun activities.
