Farm City banquet tonight

Farm City Month comes to an end tonight with the annual Farm City Banquet to be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Bob McGuken Civic Center. The cost of the event is $12 per person.

Organizers plan to name the area Farm Family for the coming year during the event, which will also include the naming of winners of from a poster contest and an essay competition commemorating the event.

Also, Miss Alabama and Miss America runner-up Paige Parnell is scheduled to speak during the event.

The Cullman City Farm Committee works in conjunction with the Farm-City Council, a non-profit agency dedicated to preserving the link between farm families and urban residents.

Other events that were part of Farm City Month included a balloon release at the Child Development Center, Peinhardt Farm Day, a proclamation breakfast, Farm City Day at Festhalle Market Platz and a Farm City tour that included stops at Terri Gilley’s farm and Hired Hands Hired-Hand Manufacturing, a multi-million dollar company that produces machines used by poultry producers around the world,

Also, Farm City Posters are on display in the Cullman County Courthouse until Saturday.
