Cullman residents are invited to the 2007 Farm-City Tour on Nov. 1.
Tour buses will leave the Cullman Civic Center at 9 a.m. and will return at 3 p.m.
Residents will first travel to the Billy and Terri Gilley farm, to learn how a large scale farm operates. The Gilley’s are past winners of the Cullman County Farm-City Farm Family of the Year award and were recognized this past year by the Alabama Farmers Federation as Alabama Farmers of Distinction.
The tour will continue to Dodge City to enjoy a dutch treat lunch at the Dodge House.
Following lunch the tour will travel to Bremen to tour Hired Hand. The local company has grown to become the worlds largest manufacturer of electronic environmental controls for poultry houses. Participants will see the relationship between industry and farming.
This is a free event, but reservations are required. For more information or to make reservations, call the Cullman County Economic Development office at 775-4696 no later than Oct. 29.
