D.A. ‘Poodle’ Calvert

Funeral services for D.A. “Poodle” Calvert, 88, of Crane Hill were held Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Livingston Chapel Methodist Church, Bros. Ron Gilbreath and Eric Bell officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.
Cullman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Calvert went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 20, at his residence. He was born on Feb. 28, 1919, to Clifton and Bell Stricklin Calvert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Verlon, Sim, Ovel and Offiee Calvert; and two sisters, Lillie Bell Poston and Mullice Calvert.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Christine Calvert; two sons, Dennis (Doris) Calvert of Fultondale and Ray (Barbara) Calvert of Crane Hill; a daughter, Evelyn (Charles) Easterwood of Bremen; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Pallbearers were Keith Calvert, Allen Calvert, Darrell Calvert, Todd Calvert, Chad Calvert and Brandon Harbison.
Visitation was Sunday at the church.
