The North Jefferson News was recently honored by the Jefferson County Board of Education.

In a resolution dated Oct. 4, the school board nominated the paper to the Alabama Association of School Boards’ statewide Education Media Honor Roll.

The resolution honored The North Jefferson News for its coverage of the construction and opening of the Fultondale Elementary School in January 2007 and for its coverage of construction on the new Gardendale High School.
