City appoints members to beautification commission

Congratulations to the new members of the Gardendale Beautification Commission. • Sept. 30 will be a free zoo day at the Birmingham Zoo, sponsored by Regions Bank. Admission is free from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

n If you enjoy golfing, don’t miss this opportunity to golf while supporting your local high school. The Gardendale High School PTSA sponsors an annual Homecoming Golf Tournament each year to raise funds for the high school. This year’s tournament will be held at Castle Pines Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 5, with a shot-gun start at 8 a.m. For more information call Susan Rice at 281-8348.
