Wallace names President’s, Deans List students


Wallace State has announced the names of more than 250 students making the President’s List and Dean’s List for the summer 2007 semester.

To earn a spot on the Wallace State President’s List, students must maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester while taking a course load of at least 12 hours. Placement on the Dean’s List is awarded to students maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher.

The following 114 students received President’s List honors for summer semester: Gardendale: John McIntosh and Jessica Williams; Hayden: Tonya Buttram, Sherry Hayes, Tesia Pair, Traci Schanck and Erin White; Mt. Olive: Jeffrey Howell; Trafford: Amanda Marona and EricWindsor; Warrior: Brittney Cole, Kari Malone, James Sims and Tammy Farmer.

Dean’s List: Gardendale: Charles Ackerman, Samantha Henderson and Tayler Young; Hayden: Jake Dunn, Ronald Lewis, Howard Millican and Jessica Thomas; Morris: Amy Stubbs; Mt. Olive: Leah Swann; Warrior: David Bamberry, Dana Ellison, Jessica Tidwell and Rush Valenta.



Birmingham

Area students named to UAB summer honor roll


A number of local residents have been named to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) academic honor roll for the summer 2007 term.

To qualify for the presidential honors list, a student must earn a 4.0 grade point average and be classified as a full-time student registered for a minimum of eight credit hours during the quarter.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must attend school full-time and earn an overall total grade-point average of 3.6 to 3.9 on a 4.0 scale.

UAB encourages academic excellence through the publication of honor rolls, scholarship awards and the UAB Honors Program.

Students named to the honor roll include: Gardendale: Briggette N. Argo and Erika B. Cary; Morris: Brannon K. Melvin.
