Archery Shoot

Sept. 22 If you’re looking for a great place to shoot your bow, then check out the 3D archery shoot on Sept. 22 at Sharon Heights Baptist Church. There will be divisions for all skill levels. TOPS

A group of Take Off Pounds Sensibly meets at 6 p.m. every Monday night in Gardendale. Our programs are short, interesting and helpful, and we are ready to leave by 7 p.m. We meet in Room 2200 of the Family Life Center, Gardendale’s First Baptist Church. Robert Pliner is the Leader. Silent Auction

Oct. 4 Gardendale Civic Center, silent auction 6 p.m to 7 p.m. and banquet at 7 p.m. Hosted by the North Jefferson Women’s Center. Tickets are $15 individual or table of 8 for $125. Corporate sponsors are welcomed. Proceeds will be used to renovate our new facility. Tickets may be purchased at the center located on Pecan Avenue behind the Teacher’s Credit Union. Fall festival

The Gardendale Church of the Nazarene will host a fall festival on Oct. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. The festival will feature a rodeo, games, food and pony rides. This event is free to the public. For more information call 631-5452 ext 212.



Mount Olive



Free Child Care

There will be free child care in the Mt. Olive area for 3 and 4 year olds. The head start program is now enrolling for the summer. Regular full day childcare is offered. Call 608-1661.



October Festival

Oct. 6 Oktoberfestival at Mt. Olive UMC will take place on Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be homemade baked goods, craft booths, musical entertainment, moonwalk, horse rides, fried pies, lunch and more. Rummage/Bake Sale

Sept. 13-15 Members of the Morris Beautification Board will hold their annual bake and rummage sale on Sept. 13-15 at the Masonic lodge on 8375 Old Highway 31 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.on Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
