The Corner Yellow Jackets fell to the Midfield Patriots, 43-6 Friday night to open 4A, Region 6 play.
The Patriots used an air attack that gained 286 yards and four scores in the air.
Midfield took a 14-0 lead after one period and led 16-0 at the half, after a second quarter safety.
In the third period, the Patriots completed a third touchdown pass on the night and with the point-after, Midfield had a 23-0 lead.
Corner would then answer back, as the Yellow Jackets took the ensuing kickoff back 28 yards to the 32-yard line.
Then the Jackets went on an 11-play, 68-yard march to pay dirt.
The lone Jackets touchdown was scored when junior running back Devin Cuda capped the long drive on a 2-yard touchdown run.
The point-after attempt failed.
Cuda would finish with 36 yards rushing on 11 carries.
Casey Marcrum led the Jackets with 65 yards on 17 carries.
Senior quarterback Caleb Hoyle went 3-for-7 for 29 yards passing.
Zac Reeves lead the Jackets with 17 yards on a single catch.
Midfield added two more scores in the final period, as the Jackets slipped to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in region play. Next week Corner will host St. Clair County in region play.
