FULTONDALE — Felony warrants were to be issued Tuesday on two Fultondale firefighters for alleged fraudulent use of a credit card.

According to a statement issued by Sgt. Randy Christian of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Fultondale asked county investigators to look into whether the firefighters were using a city credit card for personal use.

The suspects were identified as Ronald Brian Hall and Kenneth Barry Davison.

He said video of the suspects’ vehicles at a service station on Walker Chapel Road on the dates and times in question was provided by the city.

The statement also said that both firefighters were questioned by investigators and allegedly confessed to using the card on various dates.

Fultondale Mayor Jim Lowery said last week that it was normal procedure to have internal crimes investigated by an outside source. He said alleged fraud may bring about changes in city policy.

“We’ve always had a monitoring process, but we’re looking into redefining that,” he said.

Christian said credit card fraud, a Class-C felony, is punishable by up to 10 years.
