Jason Dillard continued his record-breaking ways Sunday as he rode a second-round score of 62 to an 11-shot win over 2006 Open winner Scott Weaver and Northwest-Shoals golfer and Falkville graduate Kyle Pressley.

Dillard’s 62 round is a Chelsey Oaks competitive record from the golf tees, and it came a day after he shot a 59 from the blue tees for a course record from those tees as well.

“Jason had an absolutely unbelievable weekend,” said Chesley Oaks PGA pro Cary Craig. “It is rare you see someone have a tournament like he had this weekend.”

“I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to shoot that low again because having two low scores like that is rare,” Dillard said. “It’s just a matter of being patient and waiting for good things to happen.”

Other flight winners included Kevin Byrd in the first flight (140), James McMinn in the second flight (147), Will Yelverton in the third flight (159) and Alan Woodall in the fourth flight (169).

Dillard said he hoped the win was good practice for another tournament this weekend.

“I hope this is just a little preview of how I do this weekend at the Alabama Open,” Dillard said. “I’m playing pretty well right now.”
