Smith-Nails

Marly Leighann Nails and Benjamin Charles Smith were united in marriage on June 23, 2007, in a double ring ceremony at Central United Methodist Church in Decatur, the Rev. Mitchell Williams and Billy Coleman officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rickey Wayne Nails of Eva.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynn Smith of Hartselle.

Wedding music was provided by Andrew Paul, pianist; Virginia Paul, organist; and Morrow and Laura Doss and Heath Mixon, all vocalists.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory gown with a lace-up back. The luster satin was embellished with embroidery, pearls and crystal beads. The champagne trim accented the straight neckline and semi-cathedral train. She wore an ivory fingertip-length veil featuring two tiers. Each tier was trimmed with a rolled ribbon edge and delicated floral patterns consisting of seed pearls and sequins. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of miniature cala lilies.

Amanda Ziegenfus of Charleston, S.C., was maid of honor. Bridal attendants were Danielle Coleman of Alex City, Emily Nelms of Gardendale, Kelly Gorton and Alicia Nails, sister-in-law of the bride, both of Decatur and Briana Watkins of Somerville. They wore chocolate brown tea-length halter dresses with champagne sashes. They carried a hand-tied bouquet of long-stemmed cala lilies.

Flower girl was Addison Nails of Decatur, niece of the bride.

Michael Smith was best man. Groomsmen were Chad Smith of Hartselle, brother of the groom, Rusell Moore of Hartselle, Cory Chandler of Harvest, Jeremy Nails, brother of the bride, and John Maze, both of Decatur.

Ushers were Matthew Bates, Wesley Coleman, Thad Copeland, Travis Downey, Brett Falkenhagen and Chris Laznovsky.

Zachary Smith of Decatur was ringbearer.

The reception was held at the Decatur Country Club.

Shireen Coleman and Dianne Lyrene were in charge of the bride’s register.

Servers were Annette Bailey, Patricia Maze, Sheila Nails, Donna Watkins, Debbie Woodall, Angela Wynn, Patti Lovelady and Carrie Lovelady.

Following a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Decatur.
