Freda Icelean Lair Harris
Freda Icelean Lair Harris, 93, of Bremen died June 21, 2007 at her residence where she was surrounded by family. A funeral service will be held at at Memorial Gardens, Interment, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Ind.
Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Harris was born October 30, 1913 in Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Dale Harris (Bucky), one son Robert Dale Harris Sr., and parents Joseph Lair, Clara McAlister Lair, one grandson Richard Lee Harris. She is a member of the Arkadelphia Baptist Church. Former charter member of First Baptist Church of Calumet City, Illinois.
Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Dorothy (Ray) Ballenger, four grandsons Robert Jr. Harris, Timothy Harris, Michael Ballenger and Alan (Tonya) Ballenger. One grand-daughter, Mrs. Laurie (Jimmy Jr.) Roden. She had 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Freda was the former employee of the South Shore and Hardings Lunch in Hammond, Ind.
The family would like to give special thanks to AlaCare Hospice and Special caregivers Myrna Clark, Jewel Ivey and Pat Miller, Lifecare Hospice and Alacare home and Hospice.
Sharron K. Yarbrough
Funeral services for Mrs. Sharron K. Yarbrough, 48, of Vinemont, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2007 at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Duke and Bro. Ozelka officiating. Interment will follow at Bethsadia Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home of Cullman is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Yarbrough passed away on Friday, June 22, 2007 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born on September 13, 1958 to Roy Jacobs and Doris Johnson Jacobs. She enjoyed life and being a wife, a mother of two beautiful children and grandmother of three wonderful grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Max Jacobs.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Yarbrough, of Vinemont; daughter, Lashonda Harden of Cullman; son, Cougar (Shae) Yarbrough of Vinemont; three grandchildren, Ellissia Martin, Abby Harden and Brianna Harden; mother, Doris Jacobs; mother-in-law, Mary (Jack) Brown; sister, Sandra J. (Charlie) Long; two brothers, Tommy (Jackie) Jacobs and Keith Jacobs, one grandchild on the way; a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends also survive
Pallbearers will be, Wayne Yarbrough, Chris Taylor, Steven Stone, Justin Nix, Adam McClellan and Travis Brown.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2007 at the funeral home.
Claudy Franklin Parker
Funeral services for Claudy Franklin Parker, 80, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2007 at the chapel of Christ the King Cemetery, with Brian Hawkins officiating.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Parker died June 22, 2007. He was born on May 28, 1927.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday at the chapel.
Iva Nell Stacks
Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Nell Stacks, 79, of Bremen will be at 2 p.m. Monday June 25, 2007 at Mr. Hope Baptist Church in Bremen, the Rev. Wayne Williams and Rev. Phillip Starnes officiating, with burial at Rice’s Chapel Cemetery. She will lie in state from 1-2 p.m.
Burial will follow at Rice’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Stacks passed away Friday, June 22 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Stacks; sons, William R. Stacks and Dennis W. Hall; daughters, Carol Carroll and Vickie Spinks; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Owen B Evans, Sr.
A graveside service for Owen B. Evans, Sr., 85, will be at 4:30 p.m Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Cullman Memory Gardens.
Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Evans passed away at his home on June 22 following a prolonged illness. He was a native of Helena, Ark. Formerly a resident of Decatur, he lived in Bon Secour since 1983. Dr. Evens was a graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Medicine in 1945 and served as a Flight Surgeon in the US Navy following the end of World War II. After residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairfield he was in practice in Decatur until moving to Bon Secour. He retired in 1989. Dr. Evans was a devoted husband, father and friend and an avid golfer, fisherman and was a past president of Amateur Golf Association of Alabama.
Mr. Evans was preceded in death his first wife, Patricia Clair Evans.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Norma L. Evans of Bon Secour; his sons William Fredrick (Dot) Evans and Nicholas Fletcher (Dare) Evans of Batesville, Ark.; his daughter Patricia Kimberly Evans of Auburn; his stepsons Michael Dennis Metz of Hartselle; and Wayne Andrew Punjak of Jemez Mountain, N.M.; his grandchildren, Rebecca (Kevin) Evans Cowling of Clarksville, Tenn., Kathryn (Corey)Evans Schneider, MD and Owen William Evans of Jackson, Miss., Patton (Ben) Evans Roden of Seattle, Wash., Helen (Niven) Evans Bonar of San Diego, Calif., Maime Evans Llewelyn of Cullman and great grandchildren Jackson Llewelyn of Cullman, Aiden Schneider of Jackson, MS and Callum Bonar of San Diego, Calif. and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to the American Lung Association.
Visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m Sunday at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
