Clifton Tingle

Funeral services for Clifton Tingle, 77, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Melvin Blackwood officiating, with interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tingle died Monday, Jan. 22 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 15, 1929, in Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and May Tingle.

Survivors include the staff, past and present, and visitors of Cullman Health Care, where he was a resident for 37 years. He was loved by all, touched many lives and will be missed by anyone who knew him.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.



Harm Wesley Robertson

Funeral services for Harm Wesley Robertson, 82, of Holly Pond will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Randay Burtram officiating, with burial in Holly Pond Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robertson died Monday, Jan. 22 at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born on Aug. 12, 1922, in Blount County to Obe and Della Shoemaker Robertson. He was a retired self-employed mechanic and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethelene Pope Robertson; his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Betty Robertson; and a grandson, Jason Robertson.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Casey Robertson of Holly Pond; two sons, Larry (Madelyn) Robertson of Holly Pond and Danny (Amy) Robertson of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter, Sharon (Doug) Carroll of Holly Pond; two sisters, Hazel (Homer) Gibbs of Holly Pond and Peggy (John) Smith of Titusville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Bryan (Jami) Carroll, Shannon (Beau) Judkins, Matt Carroll and Abbigail Robertson; and two great-grandchildren, Stephanie Judkins and Killian Carroll.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.



Trecie Opal Rodgers Sims

Funeral services for Trecie Opal Rodgers Sims, 90, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Charles Ervin officiating, with burial in Central Baptist Church Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sims died Monday, Jan. 22 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 11, 1916, in Cullman County to Henry Burton Rodgers and Murry Eugena White Rodgers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Henry Bascom Sims; a son, Jimmy Ray Sims; a sister, Inez Rodgers Briscoe; two brothers, Berl Rodgers and Henry Burton Rodgers Jr. She was a very active member of the Central Baptist Church for over 75 years. Over the past 90 years of her life, she had wonderful parents and siblings, a loving husband, children that love her, grandchildren that adore her, and the respect of numerous relatives and friends. In summary, she was gracious, extraordinarily gifted, exceedingly kind, always thoughtful, and a very loving person, someone that we were fortunate to call our mom, our grandmother, our sister and our friend.

Survivors include a daughter, Freda Joyce Sims Davis of Madison; four sons, Gerald Douglas Sims of Vinemont, Dale Mack Sims of Huntsville, Bernard Dwight Sims of Cullman and Larry Gene Sims of Voorhees, N.J.; a sister, Nilma Jean Rodgers of Cullman; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley Jean Matlock

Funeral services for Shirley Jean Matlock, 62, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Faith Baptist Church, Jeff Steele officiating, with burial in Flint Creek Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Matlock died Monday, Jan. 22 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. She was born on Aug. 15, 1944, in Oklahoma. She was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Eugene and Patricia Armethia Ward Hale.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Roy D. Matlock; four daughters, Teri Renee (Michael Wayne) Hale and Christy Lynne (Michael Dean) Simmons, both of Vinemont, Tammy Sue Matchen and Letha Gail (Joel Thomas III) Sandlin, both of Hartselle; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Christa) Hale, Jason Hale, Nick Simmons, Kiersten Simmons, Tyler Sandlin, Shelby Matchen and Eli Sandlin; a great-grandchild, Jacob Hale; two brothers, Charles Hale and Jerry Hale, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters, Peggy York of Springdale, Ark., and Janet Doughty of Jones, Okla.; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Hale, Jason Hale, Nick Simmons, Ty Sandlin, Levi Rusk, Riley Briscoe and Brandon Lindsey.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.





Loyce Wilburn ‘Chief’ Gregson Sr.

Funeral services for Loyce Wilburn “Chief” Gregson Sr., 86, of Utah will be Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, with burial in Orem City Cemetery, Orem, Utah.

SereniCare Funeral Home in Draper, Utah, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gregson passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 20 in Provo, Utah. He was born on Jan. 19, 1921, in Monroe County, Ala., to Harvey and Lula Hathcock Gregson. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years during World War II. He married Mildred Phillips on Dec. 23, 1946, in Alabama.

Survivors include his loving wife; four children, Tula (Jimmy) Owens of Santaquin, Utah, Reba Dellaccio of New Orleans, La., Loyce “Bogie” (Kathy) Gregson Jr. of Cullman, and John G. (Deborah) Gregson; a brother, Harvey Jr. Loxley of Alabama; a sister, Felicy Farnia of Summerdale; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
