Gereld Ray Cantrell
Funeral services for Gereld Ray Cantrell, 61, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Berlin Cemetery at Mt. Carmel, the Rev. Rob Lambert officiating, with interment in Berlin Cemetery at Mt. Carmel.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cantrell passed away Jan. 13 at his residence in Cullman. He was born Dec. 21, 1945, to Albert and Rosella Cantrell in Beaverton. He was a laborer in farming and construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sue Hugley and Judy Hill; and two brothers, Harold and Herman Cantrell.
Survivors include his two sons, Jody (Julie) Cantrell of Cullman and Josh Cantrell of Cullman; daughter, Angela (Thomas) Fossett; brother, Kermit Cantrell; six sisters, Helen (Gene)Barksdale of Vina, Hazel Riggs of Montana, Dollie (Bob) Ames of Oklahoma, Essie Lee Smith of Hamilton, Mavis (Thomas) Holly of Haleyville, and Geneva Baker of Georgia; five grandsons, Allen Burgess, Jerimah Cantrell, James Cantrell, Jacob Cantrell, and Joseph Cantrell; granddaughter, Stephanie Burgess, and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 1p.m. to 2 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
Ann Strickland
Funeral Services for Ann Stickland, 81, of Cullman will be Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Duck River Baptist Church with Lane Howard officiating and with interment at Duck River Cemetery. Mrs. Strickland will lie in-state one hour prior to the funeral service.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Strickland passed away Sunday, Jan. 14 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 17, 1925, to Patrick Jefferson Yarbrough and Rhoda Montana Hill in Randolph County.
She is survived by her husband, Walter E. Strickland of Walter; three sons, Larry (Betty) Strickland, Mick (Wanda) Strickland, and Rick (Susan) Strickland; two brothers, Johnny (Audrey) Yarbrough and Dewey (Evon) Yarbrough; two sisters, Ruth (Vernon) Doty and Rhoda Howard; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Lloyd Monroe Partridge
Memorial services for Lloyd Monroe Partridge, 58, of Addison, will be Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Madison. Burial is at Mt. Vernon West Cemetery in Vinemont.
Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Partridge passed away April 14, 2005.
Carl Hauk
A funeral mass for Carl Hauk, 61, of Hampton, Ga., formerly of Cullman, will be held Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Jonesboro, Ga., with Father Gregory Hartmeyer officiating and with interment to follow at Berea Cemetery in Hampton, Ga.
Horis A. Ward Tara Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hauk passed away suddenly Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Hauk of Hampton, Ga.; son, Scott Hauk of Marco Island, Fla.; daughter, Jenni Hauk Crase of McDonough, Ga.; mother, Esther Hauk of Locust Grove, Ga.; brother, John Hauk of Locust Grove, Ga.; and grandchildren, Sierra, Sawyer and Cooper.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in Ga.
Ival M. White
Funeral services for Ival M. White, 84, of Logan will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Logan Baptist Church, the Revs. Larry Brown, John McKoy and Tim Kinney officiating, with interment in Logan Cemetery.

Mrs. White died Saturday, Jan. 13 surrounded by her family at her residence in Logan. She was born on Dec. 23, 1922, to Luther C. and Myrtle Williams McClendon. She was a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She taught a host of Cullman County children, beginning in Arkadelphia, Dowling, and Cold Springs schools, finishing at Logan School, where she retired in 1984. She was a faithful member of Logan Baptist Church, where she gave many years of service teaching Sunday School. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde W. White; her daughter, Marsha Harbison; and two sisters, Atherlee McClendon and Ruth Glenn.
Survivors include three daughters, Regina White, Lynne White and Sonya White; a granddaughter, Heather (Jammie) Lynn; two great-granddaughters, Lydia and Savannah Lynn, all of Logan; four brothers, Marvin McClendon of Bremen, Ernie (Peggy) McClendon of Crane Hill, John (Marion) McClendon of Alabaster, and Kenneth (Nelda) McClendon of Hanceville; two sisters, Irene Black and Eloise (Charles) Hannah, both of Bremen; and a host of neices and nephews.
James Curtis Derington Jr.
A Celebration of Life service for James Curtis Derington Jr., 52, of Crane Hill will be at noon Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Ryans Creek Marina.
Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Derington passed away on Thursday, Jan. 11 at his residence. He was born on March 27, 1954, to James Curtis Derington Sr. and Sara Ann Smith Burcham.
Survivors include his parents; his wife, Kim Derington; two sons, Jacob Derington and Jesse Derington; a brother, Tom (Kathy) Derington; and a sister, Nancy (Kem) Robertson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Peoples Bank, where an account has been established for his children’s college funds.

Pearline Duke Burney Murphree
Funeral services for Pearline Duke Burney Murphree, 83, of Cullman were Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home, Bro. David McDonald officiating, with burial in Crossroads Cemetery.

Mrs. Murphree passed away on Friday, Jan. 12 at the Cullman Health Care Center. She was born on July 14, 1923, in Cullman to Pete Duke and Luvina Goodwin Duke. She was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church. The family sends a special thanks to Cullman Health Care staff.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Burney; two sons, Bill Burney and Gene Burney; four sisters, Annie Rodgers, Carrie Owens, Gertrude “Jack” Burney and Nettie Leathers; and three brothers, Lonnie Duke, James Duke and Tom Duke.
Survivors include her husband, James Murphree of Cullman; a son, Robin (Ann) Burney; a daughter, Sue (Doug) Smith; a stepdaughter, Angela Murphree; eight grandchildren, Gail (Dennis) Swafford, Teresa (John) Davidson, Dewayne (Teresa) Burney, Julie (Steve) Sharpton, Jason (Traci) Burney, Kristie (Michael) Hogeland, Brandie (Kenny) Dees and Ciera Smith; and a host of great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and friends.
Pallbearers were Dewayne Burney, Jason Burney, Steve Sharpton, Steven Todd, Daniel Todd and Michael Hogeland.
Visitation was Saturday.
Debbie June Arrington
Funeral services for Debbie June Arrington, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Lemley Chapel in Oneonta, Ronnie Waldrop officiating, with burial in Laodicea Cemetery in Hanceville.
Lemley Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Arrington died Sunday, Jan. 14 at Medical Center Blount.
