Olen Lavon Woods

Funeral services for Olen Lavon Woods, 75, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Autry Conn officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Woods died Monday, Dec. 11 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 16, 1931, to James Glenn and Altha Mae Wood Woods. He was retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Woods; and his father, James Glenn Woods; nephew, Rickey Witcher and niece, Becky Jones.

Survivors include his mother, Altha Mae Woods; brother, Jimmy Glenn Woods; sisters, Margaret Nell Morgan and Peggy Conn; nephew, Shirley (Wanda) Witcher, Robin (Cindy) Conn; and niece, Vickie Shabel.

Pallbearers will be Jason Leibenspurger, Robin Conn, Rodger Shabel, Lee Shabel, Todd Shabel, and Brandon Jones.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.





Billy Gene Rickmon

Funeral services for Billy Gene Rickmon, 61, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, David Mathews officiating.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rickmon died Saturday, Dec. 9 in Lewisburg, Tenn. He was born on May 25, 1945, to Dave and Moria Hyde Rickmon. He was retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Gnann Rickmon; three sons, Kevin Rickmon, Shane Rickmon and John Alexander; two daughters, Bobbi Tenorio and Theresa Murray; a sister, Burnell Caldwell; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday.



Novel Hancock Kugler

Funeral services for Novel Hancock Kugler, 89, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Mike Waters officiating, with burial in Baldwin Heights Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kugler died Sunday, Dec. 10 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born on March 20, 1917, to Bob and Ada Freeman Hancock. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.W. Kugler; a son Terry Kugler; and her parents.

Survivors include three sons, Marshall (LaRue) Kugler, Stanley (Diane) Kugler and Guy Kugler; a daughter, Ealon Linkous; two brothers, Voyght Hancock and D.R. Hancock; a sister, Jeanne Dunn; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today.



Mamie B. King

Funeral services for Mamie B. King, 88, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at Antioch Baptist Church, Samuel Tucker, Clendon Shedd and Billy Wooten officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. King will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. King died Saturday, Dec. 9 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 14, 1918, in Cullman to Theodore and Dora Minter Bolzle. She became very close to her siblings when their parents died at a young age and they set about the task of raising her. Mrs. King was a member at Antioch Baptist Church for over 70 years and loved to quilt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Bud King; and a grandson, David King.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Jimmy (Nell) King of Daphne; two daughters, Judy (Bill) Ballew and Joan (Frankie) Smith, both of Cullman; four grandchildren, Sherri (Doug) Wicks, William Lee (Krystal) Ballew, Brent Smith and Mandy Smith; two great-grandchildren, Racheal and Adeline; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was Monday.



Flora Bell Harbison Moore

Funeral services for Flora Bell Harbison Moore, 96, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Dudley Brock officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Moore died Monday, Dec. 11 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 20, 1909, in Winston County to John and Martha Lay Harbison. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Baldwin Heights Bapitst Church. She loved farming, gardening and hard work. She as a wonderful cook and seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, P.E. Moore; a daughter, Jean Moore Wood; three brothers, Thomas, Hill and Melvin Harbison; and two sisters, Laura Griggs and Madge Davis.

Survivors include two daughters, Elouise (Rolland) Oden of Eva and Jackie (Jimmy) Walker of Cullman; two sisters, Lorraine Pickrill and Theolene Moon, both of Cullman; two sisters-in-law, Francis Harbison of Cullman and Betty Harbison of Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Kelly (Kim) Oden of Acworth, Ga., Richard (Beth) Collins, Dana Walker and Christy Walker, all of Cullman, Lynn (Michael) Heiger of Decatur, Scott (Anita) Oden of Eva and Georgia (Brad) Jones of Birmingham; and 12 great-grandchildren, Morgan and Chase Oden, Katie, Sam and Sydney Oden, Mitchell and Rachael Collins, Ellie and Isaac Jones, Alyson Heiger, Walker Gilbert and Mason Smothers.

A special thanks is given ot Woodland Village Health Care Center, Hospice, and Cullman Regional Medical Center for the wonderful, loving care they provided to our mother.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Oden, Scott Oden, Richard Collins, Brad Jones, David Griggs and James “Red” Griggs.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.



David Jackson Gamble

Funeral services for David Jackson Gamble, 53, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cullman, Fr. Kevin McGrath officiating, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gamble passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9 at his residence. He was born on Sept. 24, 1953, in Centerville, Ala., to Roy J. and Jane Duren Gamble. He worked as a forester.

He remains endeared in the hearts of his wife, Mary-Lou Gamble; and four daughters, Amy Gamble Butler, Holly Gamble, Katherine Gamble and Theresa Gamble; and many in the Sacred Heart Parish and Cullman community. His grandson, Talan Butler, will hear tell of him in picture and in word.

He is perservered by his parents, Roy J. and Jane Duren Gamble; and his siblings, Steve (Cathy) Gamble, John (Donna) Gamble, Julia (Mike) Hutchinson and Barbara (Alan) Holmes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County or to Sacred Heart School’s Adopt-A-Student Program.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today with a rosary at 6 p.m.



Charlcie May Nail

Funeral services for Charlcie May Nail, 81, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Ferrell Milligan officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nail died Sunday, Dec. 10 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born on July 27, 1925, in Vinemont to Dexter E. and Louvie Manord Cole.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Herman Nail of Hanceville; a son, Danie (Joyce) Nail of Hanceville; two granddaughters, Angela (David) Sivley and Kristy (John) Guthery, both of Hanceville; two great-grandchildren, Trey and Paige Guthery of Hanceville; three sisters, Ruby (Hubert) Oden of Eva, Effie (Ben) Graveman of Good Hope and Loise (Frank) Morgan of Gardendale; special friends, Patricia Sutton, Tim and Tammy Grund, Ralph Brown and Christie Nail; two sisters-in-law, Dessie Jackson of Cullman and Jean Hyatt of Vinemont; and two brothers-in-law, Marvin Nail of Hanceville and Eugene Nail of Johnson Crossing.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
