Linda Land Entrekin

Funeral services for Linda Land Entrekin, 68, of Cullman will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Moss-Service Chapel, Dr. Edwin Hayes officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Entrekin died Friday, Nov. 24, at Woodland Medical Center. She was born on Sept. 17, 1938. She was a homemaker. She was a loving mother and grandmother and wonderful wife. She loved helping people and held craft classes for the elderly residents of the Housing Authority were her husband, Larry, was executive director until his retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jefferson Land Jr. and Clara Jo Ledlow Land; and a sister, Rebecca Land Field.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Entrekin; two sons, Scott Entrekin and Jeff Entrekin; a daughter, Teresa Entrekin Parker; six grandchildren, Jennifer Parker (Nicholas) Branham, Katye Entrekin, Jake Entrekin, Cade Entrekin, Chase Woods Entrekin and Caragan O’Neil.

Pallbearers will be Paul Entrekin, James Entrekin, Barry Entrekin, Robert Copeland, Byron Morrison, Neal Morrison Bobby Kelly and Jerry Morgan.

Visitation was Saturday.



Doris Ann Wilson

Funeral services for Doris Ann Wilson, 64, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Nov. 27 at Moss-Service Chapel, with Bro. Roger Chambers officiating and Tim Kinney assisting. Internment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cullman.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Wilson died Nov. 24 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Posey Wilson and Myrtle Foshee and brother, Lonnie Wilson Jr.

Survivors include her brother, Howard Lewis Wilson and his wife Faye, sisters Carolyn Sue Chambers, and Joyce Johns and her husband Darrell, and 13 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home.



Brian Lee Dutton

Funeral services for Brian Lee Dutton, 39, of Cullman, formerly of Nauvoo, will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Moss Funeral Home with interment at Walker Memory Gardens.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dutton died Friday, Nov. 24, in an automobile accident in Good Hope.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie and Wylie Heflin and his paternal grandparents, Nora and Wesley Dutton.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie, his son, Hunter Brian, and his daughter, Lyndsie Cristen. He is also survived by his parents, Elsie and Lee Roy Dutton of Nauvoo, brothers Stephen and his wife Melissa Dutton, and Matthew and his wife Wendy Dutton of Jasper, mother and father-in-law Martha and Alfred Sellers of Cullman, sisters-in-law Kathy and her husband Billy Tidwell of Cullman, and Pam and her husband Mike Dotson of South Carolina, five nieces, four nephews and one great-niece.

Visitation will be today, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home in Cullman.

Funeral services for Sarah Bryan, 74, of Cullman, who died Nov. 25, 2006, at Cullman Regional Medical Center, will be announced by Moss-Service Funeral Home at a later date.



Lola Dean Abbott

Funeral services for Lola Dean Abbott, 48, of Logan, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, with John McKoy officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Abbott died Wednesday, Nov. 22, at her residence. She was born Nov. 7, 1958, in Moulton to Orbin and Annie Sparks Lindley

Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother Beatrice Lindley; brother Michael Smartt, and a grandmother, Cornilla Lindley.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Abbott of Logan; three children, Anthony Scott Abbott, Angelia (Larry) Davis and Desiree (Jerry, Sr.) Simmons all of Logan; five grandchildren; Austin Blake Davis of Logan, Tristan Wayne Davis of Logan, Makenzie Kaydean “MeMe” Simmons of Logan, Cameron Lynn Abbott of Cullman, and Corey Allen Abbott of Cullman; 10 brothers and sisters, Mildren Hill of Hartselle, Beverly Billman of Otsego, MI, Linda Smart of Decatur, Joel Lindley of Vinemont, Phillip Lindley of Gasden, Linda Suddith of Falkville, Sherry Rector of Charlotte, NC., Elaine Caine of Hartselle, Patricia Couch of Hartselle, and Tom Smartt of Hartselle.

Corine Fowler

Funeral services for Corine Fowler, 65, of Vinemont, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, with Troy Puckett and Mark Long officiating. Interment will be in Flint Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Fowler died Thursday, Nov. 23, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 10, 1941, to Dewey and Hassie Gibson Speakman.

Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Alda Lena Douglas.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Fowler of Vinemont; two sons, Roy Fowler of Vinemont, and Mike (Sheila) Fowler of Vinemont; eight sisters, Luci Ashley of Eva, Mildred Green of Cullman, Jewell Long of Vinemont, Letha Monk of Hamilton, Betty Ann Darby of Florence, Mary Dyer of Cullman, Willadean Pace of Logan, and Carol Hafer of Vinemont; one brother, Rufus Speakman of Vinemont; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m.



William Horace Hightower

Funeral services for William Horace Hightower, 81, of Cullman, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, with Rev. John Echols, Bro. Brady Kilgo and Rev. Albert Dean Estes officiating. Interment will be in Duck River Cemetery.

Mr. Hightower died Thursday, Nov. 23, at his residence. He was born March 10, 1925, to William Cody and Lela Porter Hightower. He was a World War II veteran and was retired from Hayser Roth Industries after 41 years. He had been a member of Unity Baptist Church for 65 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

Mr. Hightower was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Viola Sticher; and a brother-in-law, Fred Sticher.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Willadean Burks Hightower of Cullman; one son, Greg (Amy) Hightower of Cullman; one granddaughter, Peyton Makenzie Hightower of Cullman; one brother, Harvey James (Fay) Hightower of Cullman; one nephew Edsel (Judy) Sticher of Cullman.

Visitation was held Saturday.



Nora Fay Bridges

Funeral services for Nora Fay Bridges, 82, of Vinemont, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at First Church of the Nazarene in Cullman, with Rev. Aaron Coffey officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Bridges passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham. She was born Jan. 15, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio, to Bazzel and Sarah Pearl Tolbert Watson. She served as an educator in Cullman County for 35 years, with the majority being in second grade at West Point Elementary School. She was a charter member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Cullman and was very active in her church, serving as Sunday School teacher, VBS director, missionary president, and in many other capacities as needed. Upon retirement, Nora Fay had a passion for missions and participated in mission trips to countries around the world. She loved to challenge her mind with games, reading and more recently with computer technology. Her love of nature was reflected in her hobbies of painting and gardening.

Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her father, Bazzel Watson, her mother, Pearl Watson, and her sister, Jean Graves Wood.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Glenn W. Bridges; two sons, James “Jim” (Jennifer) Bridges of Crane Hill, and William “Bill” (Terry) Bridges of Bedford, VA; one daugher, Rebecca “Becky” (Dwight) Bridges Jones of Anchorage, AK; seven granddaughters, Jill (Brian) Orr of Madison, AL., Joey (Richard) Orr of Vinemont, Jessica (Jason) Hoffman of Birmingham, Dena (Adam) Jurhs of Longview, WA., Trina (Nick) Farnsworth of Boise, ID., Kimberly (Chad) McCotter of Wasilla, AK., and Amy (Ramon) Wycoff of Bedford, VA.; two grandsons, Daryl (Beth) Bridges of Charleston, WV., and William “Scott” (Sara) Bridges of Sumter, SC.; 10 great grandchildren. Rozanne Orr, Gabrielle Orr, Macey Orr, Jaden Orr, Avery Orr, Hannah Hoffman, Austin McCotter, Owen Wycoff, Gavin Bridges, and Colin Bridges; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Saturday.



Era Ezell Hanvey

Funeral services for Era Ezell Hanvey, 93, of Cullman, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel with Gary McKoy and Earnest Austin officiating. Interment will be in Crossroads Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanvey died Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Randolph County to Walter and Agnas Stevens White. She worked as a restaurant cook.

Mrs. Hanvey was preceded in death by her parents; husband Benny Hanvey; son Raymond Hanvey; four brothers, U.D. White, Noah White, Lowell White and Hubert White; one sister, Inez Dewberry; one grandson and two great grandsons.

Survivors include two sons, Lesley (Betty) Griffin of Cullman, and Wayne (Gail) Hanvey of Arab; four daughters, Elizabeth Dutton of Cullman, Easter (Rickey) Andrews of Hazelgreen, AL., Caroline (Gary) McKoy of Rockhill, SC., and Frances (Earnest) Austin of Harstelle; one brother, William (Nell) White of Cullman; one sister, Naomi Floyd of Cullman; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held Saturday.



Jason Nathaniel Wilson

Funeral services for Jason Nathaniel Wilson, 26, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church, Elder Sammy Caudle officiating, with burial in Gum Pond Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson died Friday, Nov. 24, in an accident on Hwy. 278 E. in Holly Pond. He was born on Oct. 4, 1980, in Madison County to John Wilson and Betty Hardin. He was a roofer and college student at Wallace State Community College.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, L.D. Hardin and Russell Wilson.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, Johnny and Teresa Wilson; mother and step-father Betty and Larry Andrews; sisters Wendy Green and Jennifer McAnear; brothers Derrick Wilson and Jay Tracy; grandparents Sue and James Oakley; grandmother Nancy Hardin; aunt Rhonda Oakley; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m.



Ella Lean Manous

Funeral services for Ella Lean Manous, 64, of Eva, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Daniels Chapel Baptist Church, Revs. Albert Estes and Freddie Childs officiating.

Mrs. Manous died Friday morning, Nov. 24, at her home in Snead.

Sydney Ward Lackey

Sydney Ward Lackey went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, surrounded by his family in the MICU Unit of UAB Hospital. Mr. Lackey served in the Korean War for three years in the Intelligence Agency. He was a graduate of Samford College with a degree in finance and accounting. Mr. Lackey owned several businesses but had most recently been involed in the wholesale car business. Most people who knew him were touched by his extreme devotion to his family.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nanette Stone Lackey, and three daughters: Layne Hicks and her husband Jimmy Sr., Lori Crowder and her husband William and Sidna Martin. He leaves behind granddaughters Vanae Crowder of Knoxville, Tenn., Shacey Marcum and her husband Jason of Hanceville and Leigh Anne Crowder of Atlanta, Ga. and three grandsons: Jimmy Hicks Jr., Chealen Martin and Shanden Martin; one great-grandson, Zac Hicks and one grandson-in-law, Jason Marcum. These are the honorary pallbearers, he was their squire!

Mr. Lackey is buried in the cemetery of Bethlehem East in Hanceville. Rev. Jim Houston and Judge Bob Armstrong officiated the service.

Mrs. Glenn died Friday, Nov. 24, at Sunbridge Health Care Center in Gardendale. She was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Bremen to Luther C. McClendon and Myrtle Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Glenn, her parents, Luther C. and Myrtle Williams McClendon and her sister, Atherlee McClendon.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Kelly and her husband Lamar of Gardendale; son, Bryan Glenn and his wife Priscilla of Vinemont; three grandchildren: Hunter Kelly of Nashville, Tenn., David Kelly of Gardendale, and Kristina Glenn of Vinemont; three sisters: Eloise Hannah and her husband Charles of Cold Springs, Ival White of Logan and Irene Black of Cold Springs; four brothers: Marvin McClendon of Cold Springs, Ernie McClendon of Crane Hill, John McClendon of Alabaster, and Kenneth McClendon of Hanceville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be today from noon to 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Willie Mae McClendon, 71, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Williams McCracken Chapel.
