Ethel Olene Graves
Funeral services for Ethel Olene Graves, 80, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Home, the Revs. Paul Campbell and Tommy Graves officiating, with interment in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services.

Mrs. Graves died Monday, Nov. 13, at her residence. She was employed with Cullman Health Care and a licensed practical nurse for over 30 years and then transferred to Hanceville Nursing Home for 10 years. She retired at that time. She was married to P.H. Graves Jr. for 38 years. After retirement, she enjoyed being with her family, especially with her great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hanceville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ronny Graves; a granddaughter, Laura Graves; her parents, John and Laura Waters; two sisters, Effie Edwards and Louise Gonstad; and two brothers, Lon and Dwight Waters.
Survivors include a daughter, Anita (Calvin) Terry; five grandchildren, Jacqueline (Garry) Gause, Angela (Sam) Reed, Josh (Gidget) Terry, Leslie (Blake) Perkins and Jake Graves; nine great-grandchildren, Kielynn, Bella and Briceton Terry, Hunter and Grace Perkins, Tiffany Harper, Josh Reed, Grayson and Kendall Gause; three brothers, Robert, Leon and Ervin Waters; and two sisters, Jenny Passerella and Evelyn Ratliff.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Joseph Denton Lewis
Funeral services for Joseph Denton Lewis, 74, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Revs. Patrick Allred and Mike Green officiating, with burial in Springhill Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis died Saturday, Nov. 11 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 15, 1932, in Blount County to Albert and Rosa Tyler Lewis. He was a truck driver retired from Forest Ingram Farms.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Campbell Lewis; a grandson, Patrick Lantz Allred; four brothers, Jerry, Leroy, Ervin and Jessie Lewis; a daughter, Cindy Lewis; and a sister, Burt Pierce.
Survivors include three daughters, Rhonda (Kenneth) Sellers and Tina (Patrick) Allred, both of Cullman, and Renea (Dan Thomas) McDowell; six grandchildren, Jimmy Gordon, Joey Gordon, Shasta Sellers, Nathan McDowell, Trent McDowell and Breanna Allred; three sisters, Demervel Reeder, Estelle Herndeze and Brenda Tyree; and a brother, Donald Lewis.
Visitation was Monday.
Ashley Marie Black
Funeral services for Ashley Marie Black, 22, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Billy Gable officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Ms. Black died on Saturday, Nov. 11 in Jefferson County. She was born on April 6, 1984, in Cullman. She was employed with Blockbuster video store.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hollis and Elene Rodgers and Glendale and Geneva Black.
Survivors include her parents, Robert and Vickie Black of Cullman; a sister, Amy Black of Cullman; best friends, Jessica Adair and Caterina Iacobelli; uncles and aunts, Billy and Angie Black, Wayne and Teresa Rodgers, Buddy Rodgers and Larry and Connie Black; and 22 cousins, Matt and Josh, Savannah, Jason, April and Jesse, Angie Ponder, Sherry and Jason Dillard, Jeremy and Shane Carden, Terry and Tequilla Rodgers, Taylor, Brittney and Brittany, Whitney, Anthony and Tonya Quattlebaum, Dewayne and Summer Hood and Emily.
Pallbearers will be Jason Black, Matt Black, Josh Black, Jessie Black, Codey Lindsey and Jerry Rodgers.
Visitation was Monday.
Robbie Kilgo Howard
Funeral services for Robbie Kilgo Howard, 86, of Cullman will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at Bethsadia Baptist Church, Marvin Brock officiating, with interment in Bethsadia Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Howard died Saturday, Nov. 11, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 29, 1920, in Alabama. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was a member of Bethsadia Baptist Church.
Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents, Alpheus and Pearl Harbison Kilgo; her husband, Euel Howard; a brother, A.O. Kilgo; and a sister, Doris Styles.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Howard of Cullman; a daughter, Patricia (Dennis) Bretherton of Spring, Texas; a brother, Eddie (Evelyn) Kilgo of Cullman; a sister, Juanita Kilgo of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Sarah Kilgo; five grandchildren, David Bretherton, Peter Bretherton, Paul Bretherton, Stacie Perry and Amy Sommers; four great grandchildren, Eric Bretherton, Jacob Bretherton, Ava Bretherton, and Marissa Perry; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethsadia Baptist Church or the Alzheimers Association.

Sally Marie Moon Burdette
Funeral services for Sally Marie Moon Burdette, 82, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home Chapel, Douglas Pitts and Jimmy Burdette officiating, with interment in Holly Pond Cemetery.

Mrs. Burdette died Saturday, Nov. 11 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 15, 1923, to Willie and Eula Barnett Moon. She was a foster mother for more than 40 children over the years. She and her husband were recognized by the state of Alabama and Cullman County for their dedicated service to foster children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Paulette; and a brother, Willie Jean “Jack” Moon.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Burdette of Hanceville; four sons, Larry Weeks and Arthur Clingan, both of Cullman, Garry Weeks of Las Vegas, Nev., and Terry Wayne Clingan of Surgoinsville, Tenn.; two brothers, Arlington Monroe Moon and Clyde Bartow Moon, both of Cullman; two sisters, Bevin Haynes of Arab and Anny Montez Lambert of Cullman; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Fayette L. Knighten
Funeral services for Fayette L. Knighten, 87, of Vinemont will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, with burial in Kemp Cemetery in Addison.

Mr. Knighten passed away on Saturday, Nov. 11 in Cullman. He was born on July 2, 1919, in Arley. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Obera Knighten; two sisters, I.V. McGlamery and Flora Stevens; a brother, Benjamin Knighten; and a half-brother, Nobel Smothers.
Survivors include three sons, Brelan F. Knighten, Bill G. Knighten and Keith H. Knighten; a sister, Stella Bryson; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Nichols Funeral Home.
Clara Ozella Irvin
Funeral services for Clara Ozella Irvin, 79, of Snead were Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, at Snead Funeral Home, Elder Phillip Gilmore officiating, with burial in Douglas Cemetery.

Ms. Irvin died Friday, Nov. 10 in Oneonta. She was born in Marshall County to Charlie and Camelia Conn Brothers. She was a member of Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Covie Irvin; and 11 siblings.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara (Kenneth) Johnson and Donna Irvin, both of Snead, and Patricia (Jeff) Wren and Karen (Wendell) Dennis, both of Cullman; six grandsons, Gary Stewart, John Johnson, Scott Johnson, Steve Kornegay, Josh Johnson and Hunter Dennis; four granddaughters, Cindy Rigdon, Rhonda Perry, Angie Carroll and Courtney Dennis; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Chuck Brothers; and a sister, Edna Phillips.
Pallbearers were Gary Stewart, John Johnson, Scott Johnson, Steve Kornegay, Jim Perry, Brian Carroll and Josh Johnson.
Shenae C. Rodgers
Shenae C. Rodgers, 31, of Loganville died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 in the Snellville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Father Patrick Madden will officiate. Burial will be in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville.
Ms. Rodgers was raised in Shreveport, La., and moved to Georgia in 1990. She lettered in several sports at three high schools, attended Loyola College Prep in Shreveport, La., South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Ga., and was a graduate of Rockdale High School in Conyers. She played college basketball at Piedmont College, Ga.; L.S.U.S. in Shreveport, La., graduated from Atlanta School of Massage and she was a model and nationally certified neuromuscular massage therapist.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harry and Virginia Lerchie of Shreveport; and her paternal grandparents, Floyal and Dezzie Rodgers of Cullman.
Survivors include her parents, Billie W. and Donna L. Rodgers of Loganville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kit and Heather Rodgers of Knoxville, Tenn., Corey and Julie Rodgers of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister and brother-in-law, Jenna and Chris Lapides of Loganville; two nephews, Mason and Finn Rodgers; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
