Ashley Elizabeth Grier and Joshua Byron White were united in marriage on Aug. 13, 2005, in a double ring ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Cullman, the Rev. Dr. Stewart Jackson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Patty Grier of Cullman.

The groom is the son of Wayne and Patsy White of Moulton.

Wedding music was provided by Rebecca von Lehe and Jonathan Hayes, both soloists; Lisa Marsh, pianist; Annette Harman-Lee, harpist; Daniel Jamieson, cellist; and Nina Li, violinist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal strapless gown of satin in spun gold. The mermaid-style gown featured an ivory illusion overlay embroidered with hand-sewn pearls and crystals. The back of the gown was fashioned with covered buttons and extended into a sheer illusion chapel-length train that repeated the embroidery. The bride wore a one-layer, elbow-length veil of ivory illusion with an ivory rolled edge. She carried a European inspired hand-tied bouquet of open, deep red roses bound with ivory French silk ribbon.

Casey Grier of Savannah, Ga., sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridal attendants were Jennifer Hoover of Birmingham, Sara Hughes of Cleveland, Ohio, Amanda Janis of Boston, Mass., Stacy Mooney and Kathleen Moore, both of Alexandria, Va., Lindsay Rhodes of Cullman and Bethany White of Moulton, sister of the groom. They wore floor-length gowns of black chiffon. The spaghetti strap top was gathered diagonally across the bodice and was worn with an A-line skirt featuring a sweep train. They carried bouquets fashioned similar the bride’s bouquet.

Katherine Alexander and Claudine Feig were program attendants.

Wayne White was best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Alexander and Daniel Feig, both of Birmingham, Brian Neal of Nashville, Tenn., Kyle Neal of Ann Arbor, Mich., Trae Patterson of Richmond, Va., Heath Reed and Micah Reed, both of Moulton, and Freddie White of Madison.

The reception was held at Terri Pines Country Club.

Corrie Moncrief was in charge of the bride’s register.

Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple resides in Huntsville.
